Abstract: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendiskusikan kearifan lokal adat masyarakat Sunda dalam hubungan dengan lingkungan alam. Penelitian dilakukan secara kualitatif terhadap masyarakat Sunda Kanekes. Penelitian ini menghasilkan temuan bahwa pada dasarnya kearifan lokal masyarakat Sunda Kanekes disarikan dari pengalaman masyarakat Sunda lama yang sangat akrab dengan lingkungannya dan sudah lama hidup dalam budaya masyarakat peladang. Kearifan lokal adat, suatu kondisi sosial dan budaya yang didalamnya terkandung khasanah nilai-nilai budaya yang menghargai dan adaptif dengan alam sekitar, dan tertata secara ajeg dalam suatu tatanan adat istiadat suatu masyarakat. Walau sering dianggap kuno, nilai-nilai yang mereka ajarkan dan praktek yang mereka jalankan masih merupakan cara yang terbaik untuk memelihara lingkungan di zaman post-modern. Â The objective of this study is to discuss the wisdom of indigenous traditional Sundanese community in relation to natural environment. The research is done qualitatively in Kanekes Sundanese traditional community. The research found that the distinguished Kanekes local knowledge regarding to the environment is creatively developed by the community from their everyday exepriences of living with natures, being friends with nature and their experience as farming communities. The local wisdom of Kanekes community, which contains cultural values of respect and adaptive to the environment, and life based upon traditional norms. Though often stereotyped as primitive, their living values and practices of life are still the best instrument to conserve environment in post-modern age.

Abstract: Merajalelanya korupsi menandai bahwa persoalan pendidikan karakter bangsa harus menjadi perhatian semua pihak, pemimpin bangsa, aparat penegak hukum, pendidik dan tokoh-tokoh agama, golongan dan lain sebagainya. Pembangunan karakter harus dibentuk. Studi ini dilakukan berangkat dari keprihatinan saya persoalan yang dihadapi bangsa Indonesia dalam hal pendidikan karakter, lalu menganalisis fakta-fakta yang ada, dan dari sana menawarkan berbagai alternatif penyelesaian. Dari hasil analisis dan pembahasan, didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa pembangunan karakter jika ingin efektif dan utuh mesti menyertakan tiga institusi, yaitu keluarga, sekolah dan masyarakat. Karena itu, langkah pertama yang harus dilakukan adalah menyambung kembali hubungan dan educational networks yang nyaris putus antara ketiga institusi pendidikan ini. Tanpa tiga institusi itu, program pendidikan karakter sekolah hanya menjadi wacana semata tidak akan berhasil karena tidak ada kesinambungan dan harmonisasi. The current state of corruption should encourage every citizens of the nation, all parties, the leaders of the nation, law enforcement officials, educators and religious leaders, to focus their attention to character building. Character development should be established as part of the national strategy to improve nation’s life. The study begins from my concern about the backwardness of character education in Indonesia, and then from there I attempts to propose alternative solutions. The article concludes that to be successfull, character development should include the participation of three important institutions of social life: family, school and community. Therefore, the first step is to reconnect the educational institutions with other institutions. Without the three institutions, the school character education program is only a discourse which will not succeed because there is no continuity and harmonization.

Abstract: Komunitas Samin merupakan bagian dari masyarakat desa Klopoduwur yang menganut dan mempertahankan ajaran Samin Surosentiko. Komunitas Samin mempunyai tata cara, adat istiadat, bahasa serta norma-norma yang berbeda dengan masyarakat pada umumnya. Dalam kajian ini penulis menjelaskan tentang bentuk interaksi sosial antara komunitas Samin dengan masyarakat sekitar desa Klopoduwur, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi interaksi sosial antar komunitas Samin dengan masyarakat desa Klopoduwur dan kendala yang dihadapi dalam interaksi sosial. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk-bentuk interaksi sosial antara komunitas Samin dengan masyarakat sekitar berupa kerja sama, akomodasi dan asimilasi. Sedangkan konflik atau pertentangan dalam interaksi sosial antara komunitas Samin dengan mayarakat sekitar desa Klopoduwur tidak tampak jelas. Interaksi sosial antara komunitas Samin dengan masyarakat sekitar dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, yakni situasi sosial, kekuasaan norma kelompok, tujuan pribadi, kedudukan dan kondisi individu serta penafsiran situasi. Kendala-kendala yang dihadapi dalam interaksi sosial antara komunitas Samin dengan masyarakat sekitar adalah perbedaan bahasa yang sulit dipahami oleh masyarakat sekitar,dan adanya perbedaan nilai antara kedua kelompok sosial tersebut.. Samin community is part of the village community Klopoduwur who embrace and defend the teachings of Surosentiko Samin. Samin community has ordinances, customs, language and norms that are different from society at large. In this study, the author describes forms of social interaction between Samin and their surrounding community in Klopoduwur village, factors that affect the social interaction and the obstacles they faced. The study results indicate that these forms of social interaction between the community of Samin and local residents take the form of cooperation, accommodation and assimilation. There are no conflicts or contradictions in the social interaction between the Samin community and their neighbours. Samin social interaction between communities and local residents affected by various factors, namely the social situation, the power of group norms, personal goals, status and condition of the individual as well as the interpretation of the situation. Constraints encountered in the social interaction between communities and local residents Samin is the difference in language, and the value difference between the two social groups.

Abstract: Abstrak Belakangan ini angka perceraian baik tingkat nasional, regional Jawa Timur, maupun lokal Kota Malang sangat tinggi. Di wilayah Kota Malang, angka perceraian tertinggi terdapat di wilayah Kecamatan Kedungkandang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemahaman akan makna dan tujuan perkawinan, sebab-sebab terjadinya perceraian, dan komitmen pasangan suami istri dalam mencapai tujuan perkawinan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan naturalistik dengan wawancara (depth interview) sebagai metode pengumpulan data. Informan penelitian ditentukan secara snow ball di antara para janda dan duda di wilayah Kecamatan Kedungkandang yang bercerai pada sepanjang tahun 2012. Analisis dan intepretasi data merujuk pada enam langkah analisis sebagaimana dikemukakan Creswell. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar informan penelitian kurang memahami makna dan tujuan perkawinan. Berbagai hal yang dikemukakan sebagai penyebab perceraian, seperti ekonomi, kekerasan dalam rumah tangga (KDRT), perselingkuhan, dan sebagainya, sejatinya hanya merupakan pemicu, namun yang paling mendasar sebagai penyebab perceraian adalah tidak adanya komitmen antar masing-masing pasangan dalam mencapai tujuan perkawinan. Abstract Lately, the divorce rates both nationally and regionally continues to increase. This is, what happened in the municipality of Malang, where the highest divorce rate is in the district Kedungkandang. This study aims to describe the causes of divorce, and the couple’s commitment to achieve the goal of marriage. This study uses naturalistic approach with depth interviews as a method of data collection. The research informants were determined through snow ball methods among the widows and widowers in the district Kedungkandang who were divorced in 2012. Analysis and interpretation of data refers to the six-step analysis as presented by Creswell. The findings show that most of the research informants do not understand the meaning and purpose of marriage. Various things are presented as the cause of the divorce, such as economic, domestic violence (KDRT), infidelity, and so on, but the most fundamental cause of divorce is the lack of marital commitment between each partner in achieving the goal of marriage. © 2013 Universitas Negeri Semarang

Abstract: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pelaksanaannya model pembelajaran tutor sebaya (peer teaching) di SMAN I Brebes. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah guru sosiologi kelas XI IPS 1 dan siswa kelas XI IPS 1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peer teaching memerlukan persiapan yang matang, dan setiap tahap pelaksanaan hendaknya dievaluasi untuk mendapatkan hasil yang baik. Faktor pendukung dalam pelaksanaan model pembelajaran tutor sebaya antara lain yaitu adanya interaksi antara guru dengan siswa, minat belajar siswa cukup tinggi, guru dan siswa lebih akrab dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, keterlibatan tutor sebaya dalam kelompok belajar membuat suasana pembelajaran lebih menarik, sedangkan faktor penghambatnya antara lain yaitu kurangnya persiapan dari para tutor, sarana dan prasarana kurang memadai, kegiatan pembelajaran kurang kondusif, dan sumber belajar kurang memadai. The objective of this study is to examine the implementation of peer tutoring learning model (peer teaching) in SMAN I Brebes. Subjects in this study were teachers sociology class XI IPS 1 and class XI IPS 1. Results show that the implementation of peer teaching requires preparation, and each stage of the implementation should be evaluated to obtain good results. Factors supporting the implementation of peer tutoring learning model, among others, the interaction between teachers and students, and also student interest is high; teachers and students are more familiar in learning activities, and peer tutor involvement in the study group to make the learning environment more attractive. The inhibiting factor of peer teaching strategy include among others the lack of preparation of the tutors, inadequate infrastructure, lack of conducive learning activities, and learning resources are inadequate.
