TL;DR: A critical, annotated and illustrated catalogue, which brings together and summarizes all the available information on the taxonomy of Proctotrupoidea from India and should serve as the basis for future taxonomic revisions.
Abstract: This review presents a critical, annotated and illustrated catalogue, which brings together and summarizes all the available information on the taxonomy of Proctotrupoidea from India. Over 170 species, belonging to 69 genera, and a series of undescribed species of these genera are dealt with. Synoptic keys to families, subfamilies, tribes, genera and species, with notes on diagnostic characters and distribution arc included. Many genera are redefined and correctly placed and are recorded for the first time from India. Twenty plates of line drawings are included. No attempt is made to elucidate synonymies. This review should serve as the basis for future taxonomic revisions.

Abstract: The genus Stenchaetothrips Bagnall is revised with particular reference to the Indian species. A total of 20 species are recognized, including 5 new species, and one species, sacchari (Kruger) herein transferred to this genus from Thirps; the interrelationships of the known species are discussed. The different character trends various species are discussed. The genus is divied into 2 main species groups, the biformis group and the melanurus group, based on the posterior projections of the intermediate abdominal terga. A key is provided for separating the Indian species.

Abstract: Certain seasonal fluctuations in the population of short-horned grasshoppers from three distinct vegetational sites, namely cultivation, orchard and open grassland at Solan, Himachal Pradesh, India were observed. Average relative humidity is considered to be statistically significant in regulating these tluctuations. Habitat preference, relative density and relative frequency of 17 acridid species are also discussed.

TL;DR: In all cases females were greater in number than the corresponding males caught in fish-baited traps, and Calliphorid flies showed bimodal peak: of abundance during March and December, with a small peak: in June.
Abstract: Investigation on seasonal occurrence of Calliphoridae and Sarcopbagidae was carried out with fish-baited traps in Calcutta from January-December, 1914. Total number of flies collected was 21,412 of Calliphoridae and 884 of Sarcophagidae, covering 19 species. The occurrence of fiies in different zones in the city was directly related 10 the quantity and .quality of available breeding media. In all cases females were greater in number than the corresponding males caught in fish-baited traps. Chrysomyia nzegacephala was the dominant species in all sites in aU seasons and C. rujifacles, Lucilia cuprina, Hemipyrellia ligurriens, Parasarcophaga misera, P. ruficornis and P. perigrina were abundant in the city. Calliphorid flies showed bimodal peak: of abundance during March and December, with a small peak: in June. Sarcophagid flies also showed bimodal peak of abundance during April and November. Differencess in seasonal prevalence of blow-flies and flesh-flies in Siliguri City in comparison to the pres...

TL;DR: Almost equal number of male and female flies of Chrysomya megacephala and Chrysomy rufifacies trapped on baits of ripe jackfruit, ripe mango and molasses possibly represent a real proportion of maleand female population of blowflies.
Abstract: Almost equal number of male and female flies of Chrysomya megacephala (Fabricius) and Chrysomya rufifacies (Macquart) trapped on baits of ripe jackfruit, ripe mango and molasses, possibly represent a real proportion of male and female population of blowflies. Larger number of female flies of C. megacephala and C. rufifades occurred on fish and meat baits than that on Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophylus), mango (Mangifera indica) and molasses. As raw fish and meat are important breeding media for flies, they may have attracted a larger number of female blowflies for oviposition.

TL;DR: The seasonal variations and species diversity of aquatic Coleoptera in a freshwater tropical fish pond at Bhagalpur (Bihar) during June, 1978 to May, 1980 showed no such marked fluctuations.
Abstract: The paper discusses the seasonal variations and species diversity of aquatic Coleoptera in a freshwater tropical fish pond at Bhagalpur (Bihar) during June, 1978 to May, 1980. Laccophilus sp. and Canthydrus sp. (Dytiscidae) and Amphiops sp. (Hydrophilidae) were recorded throughout the year. Other members of of these families. although present in the pond in appreciable numbers, were not recorded throughout the year. Possible causes of fluctuations in their population densities have been discussed. The species diversity.(H) and evenness of species (J) of these aquatic Coleoptera showed no such marked fluctuations. The species abundance relationship and diversity measures among aquatic; Coleoptera for monitoring water pollution have also been summarized,
