TL;DR: A rapid, easy and simple protocol for total genomic DNA isolation was developed for Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and Fusarium oxysporum, and DNA obtained was not contaminated by protein or carbohydrate, and proteases, cesium chloride or phenol were also not necessary.
Abstract: A rapid, easy and simple protocol for total genomic DNA isolation was developted for Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and Fusarium oxysporum . The total genomic DNA yield was very high and suitable to RAPD (random amplified polymorphic DNA), and restriction endonuclease reactions. DNA obtained by this protocol was not contaminated by protein or carbohydrate, and proteases, cesium chloride or phenol were also not necessary.

TL;DR: The carcass and fillet yield and percentages of head, skin and waste of the Nile tilapia in four different weight categories were evaluated and the fillet weight showed a significant linear correlation only with the total fish weight in the extreme weight categories.
Abstract: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the carcass and fillet yield and percentages of head, skin and waste of the Nile tilapia in four different weight categories (W1=250-300g; W2=301-350g; W3=351-400g and W4=401-450g). Twenty-four specimens were captured from 38 square-meter tanks installed at Unesp Aquaculture Center, Jaboticabal, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil and investigated. The carcass yields (with or without heads) were meaningfully influenced by the fish weight, though some difference was detected only between W1 and W3 categories. The maximum and the minimum fillet yield were respectively 40.39% (W1) and 32.15% (W3). Dressed out body yield and percentages of head, skin and waste for fish meal were not influenced by the weight of the specimens. The fillet weight showed a significant linear correlation (W<0.05) only with the total fish weight in the extreme weight categories (W1 and W4).
