Abstract
In April 1975, the Walking Catfish (Clarias batrachus) was known to be established in ten counties of Florida. The present range of this exotic species covers 18 counties or somewhat more than 25 % of the freshwater area of Florida, and this has happened in the ca ten years since the first specimens were found in the wild. Severely cold winters have failed to stem range expansion, and future northward migration in peninsular Florida can be expected.

Which Animal Will Invade

TL;DR: The European cabbage butterfly (Pieris rapae) has, in the last century, invaded Bermuda, North America, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii and other Pacific islands, while other European Pieris species such as P. mannii and P. ergane have not yet crossed the Atlantic, and the large white, P. brassicae, has only recently established a toehold in South America.

Lower lethal temperatures for fourteen non-native fishes in Florida

TL;DR: Temperature is less limiting for these fishes in Florida than was previously recognized, and temperatures associated with reduction in feeding, cessation of feeding, loss of equilibrium and death were identified by decreasing water temperature 1°C day−1.

The Introduced Fish Problem and the Aquarium Fish Industry

TL;DR: It is imperative that the aquarium fish industry and trade take measures to curtail such releases, and industry must assist in public education to reduce introductions by aquarists.

The need for research and monitoring on the impacts of translocated sharptooth catfish, Clarias gariepinus, in South Africa

TL;DR: The sharptooth catfish, Clarias gariepinus, is a widespread African freshwater fish species which occurs naturally from the Nile to the Orange River, where it is now an alien invasive species.

Sustained periodic terrestrial locomotion in air-breathing fishes

TL;DR: It appears that dorsoventral compression of the body, elongation of the axial skeleton or the presence of robust pectoral fins can facilitate effective terrestrial movement by air-breathing fishes.

Range Expansion and Environmental Impress of the Introduced Walking Catfish in the United States

TL;DR: The Walking Catfish (Clarias batrachus), accidentally introduced into southeastern Florida in the mid-1960s, is currently distributed over more than 8,750 square km in ten counties, and can reasonably be expected to extend over still further counties within the next few years.
