On boundary conditions for a certain class of problems in mixture theory
TL;DR: In this article, an additional boundary condition for solid-fluid mixtures is proposed for the situation in which a mixture boundary is in a saturated state, derived from a thermodynamic characterization of the state and taking the form of a relationship between the total stress tensor, the stretch tensor and the volume fraction of the solid.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of elastic properties of homogeneous, orthotropic vascular segments in distension
TL;DR: A material identification technique that first required the adaptation and validation of a constitutive law describing the nonlinear, three-dimensional behavior of orthotropic, compressible, hyperelastic vascular segments and based on the results of two sample cases, it is believed that the technique could be beneficial to the assessment of the three- dimensional, anisotropic behavior of vascular tissue.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pre-stressed and reinforced hollow cylindrical mixture of non-linearly elastic solid and ideal fluid subjected to combined deformations: A study within the context of the theory of interacting continua
TL;DR: In this article, the saturation boundary condition was extended to the case of fibers-reinforced solid-ideal fluid mixture with residual stress and residual stress (or pre-stress) characterized by the opening angle of the sector-like cross-section.
Journal ArticleDOI
Saturation boundary condition within the context of the theory of interacting media with a certain distribution of fibers
TL;DR: In this article, the authors extend the boundary condition to the case of mixtures containing a certain distribution of fibers (transverse isotropy) and include the effect of initial fibers distribution.

Steady diffusion of an ideal fluid through a pre-stressed and reinforced hollow conduit subjected to combined finite deformations
TL;DR: In this article, the radial steady diffusion of an ideal fluid through a pre-stressed fibrous hollow cylinder subjected to finite deformations is investigated, and the numerical results show that the presence of a prestress reduces considerably the sensitivity of the dimensionless trans-mural pressure to imposed dimensionless flux.
