In facing disruptive environmental changes, companies must cope with unexpected challenges, threats, and opportunities. To succeed, executives need to overcome severe stress to find new ways to survive and thrive. They need resilience, a dyynamic process encompassing positive adaptation within the environment of significant turbulence. Different executives will present different resilience patterns. This paper proposes Mental Models (MM) as a way for explaining these differences. Through the analysis of the 10-item CD-RISC scale by five independent judges, the paper concludes the Strategic MM as presenting a better resilience pattern and proposes its development as a way to enhance executives’ resilience.
