TLDR
In this paper, the authors describe the use of expansion bellows for sealing a valve rod passage in a globe valve, where the connecting flange is reduced to a minimum wall thickness in terms of the resistance requirements, with a membrane-shaped sealing element.
Abstract
The invention relates to bellows for sealing a valve rod passage in a globe valve. Said bellows are especially configured as expansion bellows or as a corrugated pipe. They provide a reliable, hygienic and durable static seal for the connecting flange of a closing member unit in the housing of the globe valve, are resistant to the forces present and have a long enough service life. To this end, the connecting flange (40) of the closing member unit (4) has a fixing part (4f) in the area of its connection to the bellows (4b). Said fixing part absorbs the forces resulting from the deformation of the bellows (4b) caused by the globe valve and/or from the pressure in the housing (1a), essentially without producing bending moments, and is indirectly supported on the housing side. In the area of its conical sealing surface (4h), the connecting flange is reduced to a minimum wall thickness in terms of the resistance requirements, with a membrane-shaped sealing element (41). The membrane-shaped sealing element (41) has at least one pre-stressed elastic pressure ring (5) on the side which is turned away from the conical sealing surface (4h). This pressure ring (5) presses the sealing surface (4h) onto the complementary ring bearing surface (1k).

Bellows plungers having one or more helically extending features, pumps including such bellows plungers and related methods

TL;DR: In this paper, a mold core comprising a helically extending exterior contour and a cooperatively associated mold cavity was used to mold a helical bellows plunger. But the molding material was not used for molding the helical plume.

Valve for controlling slurry flow

Rule Richard
TL;DR: In this paper, a valve stem seal is used as a stem seal in a valve for controlling flows containing solid material such as slurry flows with an actuator, where the seal is positioned outside of the valve body so that the inside of the seal and the valve bodies form an essentially closed space for the flow to be controlled.
