Abstract: The vehicle bodywork has a reinforcement element (7) fitted in the upper rear corner of a rear door aperture (3). This element extends round the corner of the door aperture and has an arm directed forwards. It is longer at the top than at the bottom. The forward-directed arm of the reinforcement element is carried in a carrier located above the door aperture. At the back, it is connected to elements in the bodywork fitted behind the door aperture. It is connected at its edges to other elements in the bodywork.
