Bridge rectifier for selectively providing a full-wave or a half-wave rectified voltage

TLDR
An automatic power reduction circuit with a single silicon controlled rectifier in one leg of a bridge rectifier which is gated off when a capacitor reaches a predetermined voltage level so as to switch automatically the bridge output from a full wave rectifier to a half-wave rectifier is described in this paper.
Abstract
An automatic power reduction circuit having a single silicon controlled rectifier in one leg of a bridge rectifier which is gated off when a capacitor reaches a predetermined voltage level so as to switch automatically the bridge output from a full-wave rectifier to a half-wave rectifier. An auxiliary silicon controlled rectifier is also provided to facilitate the quick discharge of the capacitor so as to reset the circuit to its initial state, thereby allowing fast, repeated operations and preventing malfunctioning upon a loss of power.

Electric motor control for a pipe bender

TL;DR: In this article, a solid-state electronic control system for an electric motor which drives a pipe bending machine is described, where a machine operator's hand switch acts through a logic system to cause the motor to run in either direction, and negates control conflicts.

Electromagnet-controlling system

TL;DR: In this paper, the power winding of an electromagnet with rectified A.C. is inserted in parallel with a transistor, the conducting condition of which is provided by a condenser fed into the base of the transistor which latter acts then on the electrode controlling the thyristor to allow the latter to return into its nonconductive condition at the end of an alternation.
