Combustion controlling apparatus

TLDR
In this article, a two-stage proportional control of the gas flow rate in a gas combusting apparatus in use of a proportional control valve was proposed to lower the level of explosion caused when a burner is ignited.
Abstract
PURPOSE: To lower the level of explosion caused when a burner is ignited and to accomplish two-stage proportional control of the gas flow rate in a gas combusting apparatus in use of a proportional control valve, by connecting a solenoid valve in parallel to the proportional control valve, and using the same for the purpose of slow ignition and for switching the capacity of the combusting apparatus CONSTITUTION: Gas is supplied from a gas pipe 6 to a gas burner 4 via the first solenoid valve 7, governor 8, proportional control valve 9, and the second solenoid valve 10 connected in parallel to the valve 9 Here, the temperature of hot water to be supplied is kept at a setting value through controlling of gas flow rate, by detecting the temperature of load (temperature of hot water to be supplied) by a temperature-sensitive element 13 disposed at the outlet of a heat exchanger 1 for a feed water pipe 2 and transmitting a signal corresponding to the quantity of required heat to the proportional vlave 9 via a controller 14 having a comparing amplifier In case of ignition, for instance, when the load is low, slow ignition can be accomplished by operating solenoid valve 10 by an ignition signal, supplying through an orifice 11 such an amount of gas capable of causing ignition, and operating proportional control valve 9 after passing of a predetermined time period COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
