TLDR
In this article, a micro-projector is used to present imagery on a display surface and a second device (such as a second cell phone) is equipped with a digital camera, which can capture some of the projected imagery.Abstract:
A first device (such as a cell phone) is equipped with a micro-projector, and used to present imagery on a display surface. A second device (such as a second cell phone) is equipped with a digital camera, and used to capture some of the projected imagery. The captured imagery allows a user of the second device to access digital content of interest from a user of the first device, or from elsewhere. The content may be visual, or of other form (content examples include audio, games, maps, text documents, video, spreadsheets, etc.). In one particular arrangement, the projected imagery is encoded with digital watermark data. Through such arrangements, one user can readily share content, and also engage in collaborative activities—such as cooperative game play, with one or more other users.read more

Network apparatus based on content name, method of generating and authenticating content name
Huh Mi Suk,Byoung Joon Lee +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a method of generating and authenticating a content name in content-centric networking (CCN) and a network apparatus is provided. But this method does not address the problem of how to generate content names in the first place.
Patent
Sparse modulation for robust signaling and synchronization
TL;DR: Sparse signal modulation schemes encode a data channel on a host image in a manner that is robust, flexible to achieve perceptual quality constraints, and provides improved data capacity as discussed by the authors, where the host image is printed by any of a variety of means to apply the image, with sparse signal, to an object.
Patent
Digital watermarking and data hiding with narrow-band absorption materials
TL;DR: In this article, a point of sale (POS) barcode scanner typically captures 2D imagery and a narrow-band absorption material absorbs over a narrowband it is relatively imperceptible to the human visual system (HVS) but can be seen by the POS scanner.
Patent
Proximity-based control of media devices for media presentations
TL;DR: In this article, a proximity detection system may be configured to detect a presence of a user or multiple users and upon detecting presence, access content on a user device, and record the content while also playing back the content on the media device.
Patent
Multi-user interaction with handheld projectors
Karl D.D. Willis,Ivan Poupyrev +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a hybrid visible/IR light projector is used to project visible animation sequences along with invisible (to the naked eye) tracking signals, (e.g. a near IR fiducial marker).

Methods and Systems for Content Processing
TL;DR: In this paper, a variety of technologies by which existing functionality can be improved, and new functionality can also be provided, including visual search capabilities, and determining appropriate actions responsive to different image inputs.
Patent
Trusted and secure techniques, systems and methods for item delivery and execution
TL;DR: A trusted electronic go-between can validate, witness and/or archive transactions while, in some cases, actively participating in or directing the transaction as mentioned in this paper, while providing an extremely high degree of confidence and trustedness.
Patent
Computer system linked by using information in data objects
TL;DR: In this paper, various improvements to steganographic systems, and applications, are disclosed, such as facilitating scale and rotation registration, improving robustness, and representing data by patterned bit cells whose energy in the spatial domain facilitates decoding registration.
Patent
Authenticating metadata and embedding metadata in watermarks of media signals
TL;DR: A steganographic embedding as mentioned in this paper associates data with a media signal by encoding data, a link to the data, or a combination of both of them into the media signal.
Patent
Associating data with images in imaging systems
TL;DR: A steganographic embedding as mentioned in this paper associates data with an image by encoding the data, a link to the data or a combination of both into the image, which can be located in an image capture device or an external process or device.
