In one embodiment, a diabetes management system comprises a glucose monitoring system, a pump system, and a remote device. The glucose monitoring system and pump system are attached to a patient and covered by a soft shell. The glucose monitoring system and the pump system are controlled by the small, touch-screen remote device such a patient can discreetly monitor blood glucose levels and administer insulin dosages.
