Ethylene copolymer dispersions as water repellent coatings

TLDR
In this article, an aqueous ethylene copolymer dispersion from which an improved water-repellent coating can be applied is provided, and a fabric having thereon a coating of the dispersed phase of the dispersion and a process for preparing the coated fabric are also provided.
Abstract
An aqueous ethylene copolymer dispersion, from which an improved water-repellent coating can be applied, is provided. The dispersion comprises a dispersion of an ethylene ionic copolymer and a paraffin wax held in dispersed phase by an amine soap surfactant and a terpolymer of vinyl acetate, ethylene and Nmethylol acrylamide. A fabric having thereon a coating of the dispersed phase of the dispersion and a process for preparing the coated fabric are also provided.

Aqueous dispersions of acidic ethylene interpolymers

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a method of preparing aqueous dispersions useful in adhesive and coating applications, and a method for preparing the same. The dispersion is prepared by heating and agitating a mixture of the ingredients sufficiently to disperse at least about 99 weight percent of the interpolymer and the tackifier, and to provide a viscosity of the dispersion which is less than about 1,500 Pa-s.

Repulpable hot melt paper coating and coated product

TL;DR: In this paper, a hot melt wax coating composition and a hot melted wax coated paper product are provided which coating contains at least one chemical compound which is either itself capable of acting as a latent dispersant for the coating or capable of being chemically modified so as to act as a dispersant in an aqueous environment, thus rendering the hot melt coating more readily dispersable from the coated paper.

Method of applying a mildewcide laden film and composition for the use therewith

TL;DR: In this article, a method for applying a mildewcide compound laden film to surfaces by applying an aqueous, film-depositing composition onto said surfaces, allowing to stand momentarily, and rinsing with water.

Water-based water repellents.

TL;DR: An aqueous water repellent composition comprising the reaction product of one or more of a carboxylic acid or anhydride containing from 3 to 22 carbon atoms and a polyfunctional aromatic or aliphatic amine or substituted amine containing from 2 to 25 carbon atoms was proposed in this article.

Waterborne hydrophobic barrier coatings derived from copolymers of higher vinyl esters

TL;DR: In this paper, a paraffin wax emulsion and a polymer emulsion are combined to prevent passage of aqueous fluids, but allow passage of water vapor through it.
