A fixing device esp. for vehicle instruments mounted in a housing which slides into a carrier into which it is fixed is applicable to combination units inserted in dashboard sections with foam plastics coverings. It enables the combination unit to be easily inserted and fixed when the carrier body is not exactly aligned with the opening as a result of the application of the foam plastics. A gap is left between the parts to be fixed together. Elastic clips are attached to one of each two pairs of parts to be fixed together and engage receiving recesses in the other part. The combination instrument unit housing has the recesses on its out surfaces. The clips are fixed to the carrier body.read more
