Oroclines: thick and thin

TL;DR: In this paper, two distinct types of oroclines are recognized: progressive and secondary, which are restricted to the scale of a thrust sheet to thrust belt, are thin-skinned and develop during thrust sheet emplacement.

A revised geodynamic model for the Lapland-Kola Orogen

TL;DR: Based on new structural and isotope data from Finland and recently published data from Russia, the authors proposed a revised tectonic model for the Paleoproterozoic Lapland-Kola Orogen.

Age and structural constraints on the tectonic evolution of the Paleoproterozoic Central Lapland Granitoid Complex in the Fennoscandian Shield

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present new U-Pb age data and review the existing ones from plutonic and metasedimentary rocks of the Central Lapland Granitoid Complex (CLGC) and integrate the results with the structural field observations to decipher the tectonic history of this region.

Significance of age periodicity in the continental crust record: The São Francisco Craton and adjacent Neoproterozoic orogens as a case study

TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive isotopic database was compiled from the literature, composed mainly of high-quality U-Pb magmatic and metamorphic ages (ca. 1000), together with Lu-Hf and Sm-Nd data, combined with a tectonic/geochemical synthesized review of the region, was used to test which of the available contending models can better explain the apparent periodicity in the formation of the continental crustal.

Role of the sub-continental lithosphere in magma genesis at active continental margins

TL;DR: In this paper, the relative contributions of the subduction and lithosphere components to the composition of active continental margin basalts can be calculated from their MORB-normalized geochemical patterns.

Neodymium isotopes in the Colorado Front Range and crust–mantle evolution in the Proterozoic

TL;DR: In this article, an empirical model is constructed that may provide accurate crust-formation ages f or rocks of all ages, based on the isotopic data of major rock types of the basement underlying the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.

Formation and Diagenesis of Weathering Profiles

TL;DR: In this paper, the predicted bulk compositional changes are corroborated by studies of recent weathering profiles developed on a variety of plutonic and volcanic rocks under different climatic regimes.
