TLDR
In this article, an active component for controlling noxious insects is discharged at a controlled speed from a polymer matrix composed of (a) a vinyl polymer such as vinyl chloride (co)polymer, (b) a liquid plasticizer, e.g. ethyl phthalate or ethyl adipate in an amount which is the possible maximum and at the same time in which the liquid fluid blend with the polymer.
Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a noxious insect-controlling system enabling the effective and efficient use of an active component and having a homogeneous discharging speed of the active component. CONSTITUTION: An active component for controlling noxious insects is discharged at a controlled speed from a polymer matrix composed of (A) a vinyl polymer such as vinyl chloride (co)polymer, (B) a liquid plasticizer, e.g. ethyl phthalate or ethyl adipate in an amount which is the possible maximum and at the same time in which the liquid plasticizer can keep dry fluid blend with the polymer, and (C) triphenyl phosphate in an amount (preferably, 10-35wt.% of the total of the system) which is sufficient to be effective as a carrier for the active component. Examples of the active component include natural or synthetic pyrethroids, carbamates, phosphates, phosphorothioate, etc.
