The invention discloses a heartbeat data packet sending method and device, relates to the technical field of the Internet and mainly aims at solving the problem that in the prior art, the access loadpressure of a server is liable to increase and a memory space of the server is liable to occupy due to the fact that heartbeat data packets are sent to the server frequently according to fixed time intervals. The main technical scheme provided by the invention comprises the steps of obtaining a uniform resource locator URL of a target server and generating heartbeat data packets according to the uniform resource locator URL of the target server; and sending the heartbeat data packets to the target server according to progressively increasing and non-fixed time intervals.
