TLDR
In this article, the size of polygons for composing an object in computer graphics is compared with a predetermined threshold value, and each polygon having a size which exceeds the threshold value is divided, and the resultant polygons are compared again.Abstract:Â
The size of polygons for composing an object in computer graphics is compared with a predetermined threshold value. Each polygon not exceeding the threshold value is directly converted into pixels. On the other hand, each polygon having a size which exceeds the threshold value is divided, and the resultant polygons are compared again. This ensures efficient processing of the polygons without causing an expansion of the circuit configuration or a significant increase in cost. The processing of the polygons will never be affected by the size of the polygons.read more

Red-eye filter method and apparatus
TL;DR: In this article, a red-eye filter is used to detect a region within a captured image indicative of a redeye phenomenon, the detection being based upon a comparison of the captured image and a reference image of nominally the same scene taken without flash.
Patent
Detecting red eye filter and apparatus using meta-data
Michael J. Deluca,Yury Prilutsky,Eran Steinberg,Peter Corcoran,Petronel Bigioi,Alexei Pososin +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a method of filtering a red-eye phenomenon from an acquired digital image including a multiplicity of pixels indicative of color, the pixels forming various shapes of the image, includes analyzing meta-data information, determining one or more regions within the digital image suspected as including red eye artifact, and determining, based at least in part on the meta data analysis, whether the regions are actual red eye artifacts.

Correction of "red-eye" effects in images
Victor Anatol'evich Nesterov,Vladimir Alezandrovich Khvatov,Leonid Borisovich Lalyko,Kryzstof Antoni Zaklika +3 more
TL;DR: In this article, the color channel information is defined for specific or collections of wavelength values or color content values, usually with at least two channels, up to four or more color channels used to carry all of the information (with digital images, pixel information) for each color.
Patent
Method and apparatus for the removal of flash artifacts
TL;DR: In this paper, a difference image is generated by subtracting the flash-less image from the flash image, and a threshold is applied to the difference image such that only large differences in intensity remain in the difference images.
Patent
Two stage detection for photographic eye artifacts
Florin Nanu,Adrian Capata,Eran Steinberg,Peter Corcoran,Petronel Bigioi,Alexei Pososin,Mihai Ciuc +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a face detector analyzes the one or more preview images to ascertain information relating to candidate face regions therein, and a speed-optimized filter produces a first set of candidate red-eye regions based on the candidate face region information provided by the face detector.

Estimating graphics system performance for polygons
TL;DR: In this article, a method for estimating rendering times for 3D graphics objects and scenes is disclosed, which allows a graphics system to alter rendering parameters (such as level of detail and number of samples per pixel) to maintain a predetermined minimum frame rate.
Patent
Adaptive subdivision of mesh models
TL;DR: In this article, a computer-based method and method for refining of mesh model of a 3D object or surface through adaptive subdivision that results in a smooth interpolation of the mesh surface.
Patent
Method and apparatus for adaptive nonlinear projective rendering
Kamen Yakov,Leon Shirman +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a method of texture mapping, or shading, applies to triangle-based graphical objects having undergone a perspective transformation, making use of linear interpolation for determining the appropriate mapping for the interior points of each triangle, thus reducing the computation-intensive mathematical calculations otherwise required.
Patent
Image processing in which polygon is divided
TL;DR: In this paper, a polygon dividing section selectively divides each of a set of polygons approximately representing a 3D object based on geometric data of the polygon and a reference data to convert the set of polygon into a new set of 3D polygons.
Patent
Method and apparatus for adjusting graphics processing procedures based on a selectable speed/quality gauge
TL;DR: In this paper, the S/Q adjustment can be tuned within a predetermined range (e.g., 0 to 255) where on one side, speed is represented over image quality while on the other side, image quality is representing over speed.
