TLDR
In this article, KURAKIN and JUFEROV presented a low-speed synchronous motor with electromagnetic speed reduction. But the speed reduction is effected by interaction of the harmonics of the fields of the toothed stators and rotor.Abstract:
1,196,213. Synchronous motors. A. S. KURAKIN, and F. M. JUFEROV. 30 April, 1968, No. 20363/68. Heading H2A. A low-speed synchronous motor having electromagnetic speed reduction comprises coaxially nested internal and external stators 3, 1 whose mutually facing surfaces have equal numbers of open slots, an A.C. winding 2 on the external stator 1, a motor frame 8 and end shields 5, and in the annular gap between the stators a non-wound hollow rotor 6 comprising a thinwalled metal cylinder 18 having ferromagnetic teeth and intervening non-magnetic portions acting as open slots 19. The speed reduction is effected by interaction of the harmonics of the fields of the toothed stators and rotor. As shown, the stator 3 is excited by a field winding 4, but in other embodiments it is excited by a permanent magnet. The rotor shown is a slotted ferromagnetic cylinder, but in Fig. 6 (not shown), is of A1. slotted to receive ferromagnetic strips (21). The motor is for use in tape recorders, time relays, and automatic control and electronic devices.read more

Permanent magnet variable reluctance generator
TL;DR: A variable magnetic reluctance generator is a stator having pairs of spaced magnetic poles of opposite polarity as discussed by the authors, and the rotor has alternating segments of high and low magnetic permeability and these segments move through the gap between the opposite poles, which causes variations in the magnetic flux in the magnetically permeable path which induces an electrical current in the surrounding stator winding.

Full flux reversal variable reluctance machine
TL;DR: In this paper, a full flux reversal variable reluctance machine is described, which includes a plurality of poles and electrical windings surrounding a portion of the stator, and the rotor comprises main and shunt components that have alternate sections of high and low magnetic permeability.

Low profile generator configuration
TL;DR: In this paper, a low-profile electric generator with a short axial length is described, in which a cylindrical rotor body defines an interior cavity and is coupled to a driveshaft along the axis of the rotor body.

Permanent magnet motor having pole shoe rotor with laminations to retard eddy currents
TL;DR: In this paper, a permanent magnet motor was adapted as a stepper motor with axially polarized permanent magnet and the feature of an axial air gap between a rotor and the magnet was embodied.

Low loss permanent magnet motor
TL;DR: In this paper, a back EMF controlled synchronous, permanent magnet motor capable of extremely high rotation speeds at high efficiency is presented, which includes a permanent magnet flux source and excitation coils for producing a rotating magnetic field mounted on an iron free form to substantially eliminate core loss and resulting rotor drag.
