Method of producing strong fired compacts from iron or iron oxide containing material
TLDR
In this article, the authors present a blend of additives, such as AMMONIUM HYDROXIDE, MINERAL ACID SUCH as HYDROCHLORIC ACID, CARBOHYDRATE BINDER SUCH AS MOLASSES, and WATER, providing the necessary low-temperATURE strength until a CERAMIC BOND is ESTABLISHED.Abstract:
IRON OR IRON OXIDE FINES SUCH AS BOF DUST, IRON ORE, AND MILL SCALE ARE FORMED INTO STRONG CERAMIC BONDED COMPACTS SUITABLE AS RAW MATERIAL FEED FOR STEEL MAKING OPERATIONS, E.G. BLAST FURNACE FEED. A NOVEL COMBINATION OF ADDITIVES, AMMONIUM HYDROXIDE, A MINERAL ACID SUCH AS HYDROCHLORIC ACID, A CARBOHYDRATE BINDER SUCH AS MOLASSES, AND WATER, PROVIDE THE NECESSARY LOW TEMPERATURE STRENGTH UNTIL A CERAMIC BOND IS ESTABLISHED. THE COMPACTS ARE FORMED FROM THE COHESIVE MASS, PREFERABLY BY EXTRUSION, DRIED AND FIRED IN A CONVENTIONAL MANNER.read more

Biomass derived thermosetting resin
TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-purpose resin resin is described, which is synthesized from a mixture of a protein and a carbohydrate by ammoniation instead of hydrolysis, and any primary product of photosynthesis is qualified for use as the carbohydrate component of the resin.

Method for manufacturing a mineral wool product
TL;DR: In this paper, a method for manufacturing a product on a basis of mineral wool is described, consisting of: i) preparing a phenol-formaldehyde resin, ammonia and a sugar preparation containing aqueous preparation; ii) applying the preparation to the mineral wool; and iii) curing the mineral yarn with forming of the product.
Effectiveness of organic binders for iron ore pelletization
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a survey of the state-of-the-art tools and techniques used in the development of the HOGA algorithm and its application in the field of artificial intelligence.

Method of recovering iron-bearing by-product flue dust
TL;DR: In this article, hydraulic cement is added to the mixture in the range of approximately 4 - 15% by weight and the mixture is extruded into cohesive agglomerates and thereafter cured for subsequent charging to metallurgical furnaces.

Treatment of titanium tetrachloride dryer residue
TL;DR: In this paper, the production of titanium tetrachloride by chlorination of titaniferous ore is described, and the resulting residue is pelletized into agglomerates and calcined in an oxidizing atmosphere at temperatures sufficient to convert substantially all the metal chloride values in the residue to the respective metal oxides.
