Petroleum geochemistry in the Neogene sedimentary basin of Japan, with special reference to primary migration

TL;DR: In this paper, geochemical and some geological features of the presumed source beds of the Neogene Tertiary in Japan have been presented, showing that primary migration, by oil phase transport of immature or mild mature hydrocarbons derived from primary bitumen takes place at a relatively shallow depth, c. 800-1300 m in Japanese Neogene oil fields.

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that trace-element assemblages and clay-mineral ratios are in some respects characteristic of the environment of deposition of shales and that boron and rubidium are more abundant in a group of marine shales than in a groups of fresh-water shales of Pennsylvanian age.
