Abstract
This paper presents an infinite-horizon deterministic inventory model that handles inventory shortages under an announced price increase. Depending on the length of the intervening period between the announcement date and the effective date of price revision, the decisions of a customer (wholesaler) vary widely. A simplified technique useful in many situations is developed here to tackle the problems faced by a customer in such cases. Illustrations are also presented through some suitable numerical examples.

An economic order quantity model with a known price increase and partial backordering

TL;DR: This paper develops EOQ models with a known price increase and partial backordering under two different assumptions about when the increase will occur, and proves the concavity of the extra profit functions for both scenarios if a special order is placed just before the price increases.

Joint pricing and ordering policies for deteriorating item with retail price-dependent demand in response to announced supply price increase

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the possible effects of a supply price increase on retail pricing and ordering policies under the conditions that special order quantities are limited and demand is dependent on retail price.

An EOQ model with imperfective quality items under an announced price increase

TL;DR: In this paper, an EOQ model for products with imperfect quality under an announced price increase, where the defectives are screened out by a 100% inspection process, and which can be sold as a single batch at the end of the inspection process.

Optimal order policy in response to announced price increase for deteriorating items with limited special order quantity

TL;DR: By analysing the total cost savings between special and regular orders during the depletion time of the special order quantity, the optimal order policy for each situation can be determined.
