PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a page layout method for a printed matter having pictures by which a plate information generation step is quickly performed even in response to demands for change or addition of pictures or the like after proofreading by combining document data and image data independent of the document data to lay out page information in the plate information generation step for generating plate information required for plate making SOLUTION: The page layout method for a printed matter having pictures comprises a step wherein data required to generate one plate by laying out page information for a plurality pages, such as the order of pages to be distributed to the plate and the top and bottom of each page is inputted to set plate format data, a page-division setting step wherein page-division data is generated on the basis of at least data of the total number of pages of the printed matter and data of the number of page layouts per plate, and the plate information generation step wherein page information consisting of document data and image data independent of the document data is assigned to generate plate information required for plate making on the basis of the plate format data and the page-division data COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPOread more
