Abstract
The invention relates to a rack rotary forging machine for machining a steering gear rack with a linear rotary forging machining method and belongs to the technical field of machining of steering gear racks of automobile parts. The rack rotary forging machine comprises a base, a lower die lifting platform, a swing ball seat, a swinging head device and a power head, wherein a hydraulic cylinder is mounted in the middle of the base, the lower die lifting platform is movably nested on the base through four guide pillars, and the swing ball seat is fixedly mounted on stepped shafts at the upper ends of the four guide pillars; the swinging head device is mounted in the middle of the swing ball seat, and the power head is fixedly mounted on the swing ball seat. An upper die is driven to perform linear reciprocating swinging through a swinging head, a machined rack is repeatedly forged, and the required gear shape is machined finally. The forging force is 1/10-1/5 of deformation force with an ordinary forging method, and the rack is easy to manufacture; the machining cost of the rack is much lower than that with a conventional gear shaping and gear grinding method. The problem of absence of special equipment for linear rotary forging of the steering gear rack in the prior art is solved.
