In this article I will review the facilities and the power of using a dedicated integration tool in an environment with multiple data sources and a target data mart.
Abstract
Integrated applications are complex solutions that help build better consolidated and standardized systems from existing (usually transactional) systems. Integrated applications are complex solutions, whose complexity are determined by the economic processes they implement, the amount of data employed (millions of records grouped in hundreds of tables, databases, hundreds of GB) and the number of users [11]. Oracle, once mainly known for his database and e-business solutions has been constantly expanding its product portfolio, providing solutions for SOA, BPA, Warehousing, Big Data and Cloud Computing. In this article I will review the facilities and the power of using a dedicated integration tool in an environment with multiple data sources and a target data mart.

Incorporating reverse engineering methodology into engineering curriculum

TL;DR: Wanamaker et al. as discussed by the authors investigated the thoughts and feelings of students regarding the question, "what factors need to be considered when reverse engineering (RE) methodology is incorporated into engineering curricula?" The participants in the study were from the Introduction to Graphics for Manufacturing course at the West Lafayette campus of Purdue University.

Turning software into a service

TL;DR: The software as a service model composes services dynamically, as needed, by binding several lower-level services-thus overcoming many limitations that constrain traditional software use, deployment, and evolution.

ASM-based design of data warehouses and on-line analytical processing systems

TL;DR: A layered ground model specification for data warehouses and OLAP system is presented that is based explicitly on the fundamental idea of separating input from operational databases from output to OLAP systems, and formal refinement rules for such systems are defined.

Smart Data Web Services

TL;DR: In the new world where the Internet business resembles with a large and distributed sea of links, using Cloud architectural model, the web-service interoperability and SOA model one could deploy an arguably new class of apps/services that could leverage the marriage of these originally distinct computing models to be real smart, as autonomous, dynamic and agile, but open to integrate and adapt.
