A multisided horn antenna such as a square horn is disclosed having an improved axial ratio circular polarization or ellipticity. Ellipticity of a square horn antenna is improved by placing a conical section or ring of conductive material at the aperture of a horn antenna. The conical ring causes a relatively directive beam having a low axial ratio to be produced throughout most of the pattern generated similar to that of a conical horn antenna. Yet, the square horn antenna provides increased power over a conical horn.read more

Feed horn for a telecommunications antenna
TL;DR: In this paper, a feed horn comprising a radiating portion having a circular aperture, a transition formed by progressively varying waveguide sections and a flange which provides a coupling with a rectangular waveguide is fabricated from moldable material and designed to be fixed in a support.
Patent
Feed horn for reflector antennae
TL;DR: An improved feed horn for use with long f/D reflector antennae comprising an aperture having a plurality of protuberances orthogonally disposed around the periphery thereof, a conical section, a waveguide transition section and an impedance matching section was proposed in this article.

Dual mode horn reflector antenna
James T. Faith,Chun-Hong H. Chen +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a dual mode horn reflector antenna for providing an antenna pattern having symmetrical beamwidths over a bandwidth of approximately 40% is presented, where an input TE 10 rectangular mode signal is provided to the dual mode Horn reflector antennas, which generates a first TE 11 circular mode signal from the input TE 14 rectangular signal.
