TLDR
In this article, a cylindrical body with a floor is formed whose shape matches that of the associated stamping tool, and the opening widens in its cross-section towards the free end of the hollow body.
Abstract
A cutting tool is esp. for stamping holes in a paper web which passes between two drums and has a stamping tool positioned releasably in one drum and a die in the other. The die comprises a cylindrical body (6) with a floor (7) in which an opening (8) is formed whose shape matches that of the associated stamping tool. The opening widens in its cross-section towards the free end of the hollow body. At its inlet end the die has a cylindrical section (9) whose axial length is less than that of the broadened section (10) of the opening. The use of such a broadened section ensures that the die has a longer service life.
