Abstract
The purpose of the present invention is, with regard to welding terminals that function as input/output terminals in a heater element in a thermal mass flow meter, to improve the reliability of electrical connections made by spot welding between the welding terminals and terminal parts of a heat-generating resistance line constituting a heater element and to effectively prevent the adhesion of the welding terminals to electrodes of a spot welder. The material constituting the welding terminals is a metal or alloy with a melting point having a temperature differential relative to the melting point of the heat-generating resistance line of no greater than 100oC, and one or more covering layers are provided on the surface of the welding terminals. It is preferable for the covering layers to comprise a base covering layer formed from nickel and a surface covering layer formed from gold.
