TLDR
In this article, a tire with an internal layer of cord reinforced rubber composite is shown to contain at least one filament selected from a brass coated steel filament, or a nylon, polyester, rayon or polyaramid filament.Abstract:
A tire which contains an internal layer of cord reinforced rubber composite is disclosed. The rubber composite comprises, based upon parts by weight per 100 parts by weight rubber (phr), from 0 to 70 phr of a natural cis 1,4-polyisoprene rubber, 20 to 95 phr of a synthetic cis 1,4-polyisoprene rubber, and 2 to 20 phr of a trans 1,4-polyisoprene rubber; and a rubber reinforcing filler in an amount of from 20 to 70 phr, the filler comprising carbon black, or silica such as precipitated silica, or a combination of carbon black and silica which contains from 5 to 45 phr of silica. The internal layer of cord reinforced rubber composite further comprising at least one cord encapsulated by the rubber composite, wherein the cord comprises at least one filament selected from a brass coated steel filament, or a nylon, polyester, rayon or polyaramid filament.read more
