Abstract
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight inexpensive water-permeable concrete block having spaces therein and useful for vegetation or afforestation by effectively utilizing coal ash. SOLUTION: This water-permeable concrete block is obtained by mixing coal ash with a small amount of dust coal, adding water to the mixture, processing the mixture into raw granules each having an arbitrary granule diameter, spontaneously burning the raw granules in a continuous kiln, mixing the obtained granules 2 with a cement paste, charging the mixture into a mold, drying the molded product, curing the molded product, and subsequently washing the product with water or neutralizing the product with a diluted weak acidic solution. Since having spaces among the granules, the water-permeable concrete block can suitably be utilized as a vegetation culture material, an afforestation material or the like, and is inexpensive.
