Abstract
The reciprocating drive stub (18) is fitted with a wiper arm (16) for normal wiping. The second wiper arm is loosely attached to the stub mounting and is coupled to the stub drive by a selective clutch (64) operated by a solenoid (46). The second arm is driven by the same drive, and with the same speed- and phase. The solenoid clutch operates an axial grip on a pivotted catch, and is reset with spring force.
