In this article, a modest attempt has been made to examine some of the literature on work life balance, explore challenges in achieving it, address the costs of ignoring the issue and present specific WHB strategies and programs for employees and workplaces to implement in their quest for improved balance and well being.
Abstract
A balanced life is one where we spread our energy and effort - emotional, intellectual, imaginative, spiritual and physical - between key areas of importance. The neglect of one or more areas, or anchor points, may threaten the vitality of the whole. A modest attempt 1ms been made in this paper to examine some of the literature on work life balance, explore challenges in achieving it, address the costs of ignoring the issue and present specific WHB strategies and programmes for employees and workplaces to implement in their quest for improved balance and well being.
