The effect of alcohol consumption on the adolescent brain: A systematic review of MRI and fMRI studies of alcohol-using youth.

TL;DR: Alcohol consumption during adolescence was associated with significant differences in structure and function in the developing human brain, with particularly striking effects among AU females.
Journal ArticleDOI

Association of thin-ideal media exposure, body dissatisfaction and disordered eating behaviors among adolescents in Taiwan.

TL;DR: Multivariate logistic regression results indicated that media pressure and thin-deal internalization significantly increased the likelihood of body dissatisfaction, whileMedia pressure and body dissatisfaction contributed to both restrained eating and unhealthy weight control behaviors, when all other variables were controlled for.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hungry brains: A meta-analytical review of brain activation imaging studies on food perception and appetite in obese individuals

TL;DR: It is concluded that the available brain activation data on the dysregulated food intake and food‐related behavior in chronic obesity can be best framed within an Incentive Sensitization Theory.

Grounding desire and motivated behavior: A theoretical framework and review of empirical evidence

TL;DR: This article developed a grounded theory of desire and motivated behavior, and reviewed empirical work consistent with it, and further developed the cognitive, affective, and neural mechanisms that underlie desire, together with the motivated behavior that can follow, attempting to integrate and shed new light on earlier findings.
Journal ArticleDOI
