We argue that current Web technologies are inadequate in supporting many of these principles, but also that there is no fundamental reason for Web applications to be any worse than conventional applications in any of these areas.
In face of the diversified individual and collective requirements of Web applications, we argue that the Web interfaces should be flexible enough to adapt or to be adapted to each usage context.

They change not only the appearance of the Web interfaces, but also the behavior of applications, permitting novel operations, like data distribution, partial page computation, and disconnected work.
Our approach allows developers to more easily construct and maintain web-based user interfaces than other current approaches while utilising their existing server-side web components.
Further, it ensures the compatibility of the generated interfaces, which in turn enhances the reusability of the developed apps in larger applications.
