TL;DR: In this article, a 3D left ventricule reconstruction without geometrical model assumption is performed using two orthogonal projections, where the bending is assumed to be locally similar at any ventricular surface point, both in horizontal and vertical planes.
Abstract: 3D left ventricule reconstruction without geometrical model assumption is performed using two orthogonal projections. The bending is assumed to be locally similar at any ventricular surface point, both in horizontal and vertical planes. In this way, for any horizontal slice we have: (a) the overall dimensions; (b) a good estimate of the curvature radii. The 3D reconstruction problem is reduced to a constrained optimization problem for each horizontal section. A numerical solution is obtained by an iterative procedure based on a descent algorithm.© (1982) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.
