Abstract: “Low Temperature Ashing” pretreatment of natural carbonate ores suppressed interferences due to oxidizable organic impurities on DTA curves. Experiments involving calcite, dolomite, ankerite, siderite, rhodocrosite and spherocobaltite indicated that the basic DTA patterns were not adversely affected by the pretreatment outlined in this paper.
