TL;DR: In this article, a curtain-wall masonry veneer anchor system provides tolerances for accommodating installation misalignment and similarly for accommodating in-service load stresses while at the same time preventing loosening in service, even when installed through sheathing/or insulation covering wall structure to which the system is affixed.
Abstract: A curtain-wall masonry veneer anchor system provides tolerances for accommodating installation misalignment and similarly for accommodating in-service load stresses while at the same time preventing loosening in service, even when installed through sheathing/or insulation covering wall structure to which the system is affixed, such as a masonry wall or metal stud or structural steel. A threaded stud is provided, either coarse-threaded along the length for self-tapping in a pre-drilled hole in masonry, or self-drilling and self-tapping for one-operation affixation in steel studding or in structural steel; a fastener barrel has at one end a threaded hole receiving the stud and surrounded by teeth in a radial face arranged for routing away sheathing or insulation as the threaded stud screws into a wall, preventing crushed sheathing or insulation from causing loosening and backing out under service loads; novel tie configuration connects with an eye in the fastener barrel outer end and accommodates to the various rotational positions at which the fastener barrel may tighten in wall structure.

TL;DR: In this paper, an indoor sealing band and a first outdoor sealing band are connected between the opposed side frame members to close the indoor and outdoor sides of the gap therebetween, and then a second outer sealing band is connected exteriorly of the first indoor band to provide another closed space therebetween so as to prevent heat transmission from the outside.
Abstract: A unit type curtain wall assembly has an array of standardized curtain wall units each having a passageway for air and another passageway for hot or cold water extending through its frame members for room temperature control. For sealing a gap between the opposed side frame members of every two horizontally adjoining curtain wall units so as to minimize the loss of heat energy, an indoor sealing band and a first outdoor sealing band are connected between the opposed side frame members to close the indoor and outdoor sides of the gap therebetween. A second outdoor sealing band is connected exteriorly of the first outdoor sealing band to provide another closed space therebetween so as to prevent heat transmission from the outside. The three sealing bands with the two intervening closed spaces constitute in combination an effective heat insulator. The sealing bands are engaged with the side frame members so as to allow the relative displacement of the curtain wall units in their own plane.

TL;DR: In this paper, a standardized curtain wall unit is disclosed which is intended for use with any required number of other similar curtain wall units to provide a unit type curtain wall assembly capable of room temperature control.
Abstract: A standardized curtain wall unit is disclosed which is intended for use with any required number of other similar curtain wall units to provide a unit type curtain wall assembly capable of room temperature control. The curtain wall unit comprises a plurality of frame members joined into a rectangular shape, defining openings which are closed by double glazing or like panels or panes. All the frame members are of identical cross-sectional shape, with a passageway for a heat transfer fluid and a mounting recess formed longitudinally therethrough in side-by-side relation to each other. The fluid passageway is disposed inwardly of the mounting recess, or closer to the middle of the curtain wall unit, and the mounting recess is open outwardly. This cross-sectional shape of the frame members offers several advantages in constructing the unit type curtain wall assembly from a plurality of such curtain wall units and auxiliary parts such as seals, couplings, and piping.

TL;DR: In this paper, a fastening device is used for connecting lightweight curtain wall/cladding panels to the wall of a structure and comprises a wall part, a profile rod connected to the cladding panel and displaceable perpendicularly towards the wall part and an intermediate element.
Abstract: The fastening device is used for connecting lightweight curtain wall/cladding panels to the wall of a structure and comprises a wall part, a profile rod connected to the cladding panel and displaceable perpendicularly towards the wall part, and an intermediate element. Known fastening devices of this type give rise to undesired assembly constraints and necessitate a considerable outlay in terms of installation time, fastening parts and connection means. These disadvantages are eliminated by the invention by the wall part and the intermediate element together forming a hinge, having perpendicular, cylindrical contact faces with a large radius of curvature, and by the intermediate element being connected in a frictionally locking manner to the profile bar during assembly. The outline of a fastening device, made of extruded aluminium alloy, as well as the wall dowel, profile bar, cladding panels and connection means are represented in the drawing. This device is used for fastening cladding panels made of asbestos cement, metal, plaster or ceramic on outside masonry or concrete walls.

TL;DR: In this paper, a roof parapet for a thermally-insulated-curtain-walled building is described, which consists of a parapet base, a roof wall with a sagged portion, a waterproof sheet, and a coping plate over the waterproof sheet.
Abstract: A rooftop parapet, for a thermally-insulated-curtain-walled building, comprises: a parapet base; a thermally-insulated curtain wall having an upper part spaced apart from the parapet base with a gap therebetween; a moisture-proof sheet covering the gap; a thermally insulating material laid over an upper edge of the parapet base, the moisture-proof sheet, and an upper edge of the curtain wall; a waterproof sheet superposed over the insulating material; and a coping plate superposed over the waterproof sheet. Either the moisture-proof sheet or the waterproof sheet has a sagged portion so that the coping plate can follow the deflection of the curtain wall's upper part due to wind pressure acting on the curtain wall. The moisture-proof sheet serves to prevent the thermally insulating material from absorbing moisture inside the building, while the waterproof sheet serves to prevent dewdrops on an inner face of the coping plate from coming down to the insulating material.

Abstract: A prototype for a dwelling heat loss compensator is introduced in this thesis, along with its measured thermal performance and suggestions for its future development. As a heat loss compensator, the Sol-Clad-Siding collects, stores, and releases solar heat at room temperatures thereby maintaining a neutral skin for structures, which conserves energy, rather than attempting to supply heat into the interior as most solar systems do. Inhabitants' conventional objections to passive-solar systems utilized in housing are presented as a contrasting background. The potential of the outer component, a Trans-Lucent-Insulation as a sunlight diffuser and transmitter (65 to 52% of heating season insolation) and as a good insulator [0.62 W/(sq m) (OK) [0.11 Btu/(hr) (sq ft) (OF)]] are described. The performance of the inner component, a container of phase-change materials as an efficient vertical thermal storage is discussed, and areas for future research are addressed. A very brief application of this passive-solar curtain wall system for dwellings is
