TL;DR: In this paper, a toy motorcycle play apparatus consisting of an energy-storing drive-train mechanism, and a launcher for imparting energy to the mechanism and then releasing the motorcycle for forward movement is presented.
Abstract: Toy motorcycle play apparatus comprising a toy motorcycle having an energy-storing drive-train mechanism, and a launcher for imparting energy to the mechanism and then releasing the motorcycle for forward movement. The motorcycle comprises aligned rotatable front and rear ground-engaging wheels and an intermediate flywheel, all rotatable about horizontal transverse axes. The energy-storing drive-train mechanism is formed by the flywheel, one of the wheels, and a gear train between them which reduces speed and increases power and duration of rotation at that drive wheel. In operation, the motorcycle is powered by the flywheel, which also serves to maintain it upright by gyroscopic action as it moves forwardly. The launcher holds the motorcycle in the desired upright orientation with the drive wheel elevated so that it can rotate freely while energy is being stored in the flywheel. Then the motorcycle is released, the drive wheel is allowed to engage the launcher platform and propel the motorcycle forwardly. In a motorized version, a movable arm on the launcher carries a motor-drive power-transmitting drum. Initially, the arm is moved so that the drum directly engages the periphery of the flywheel on the motorcycle to transfer energy to the flywheel. When the arm is moved away, the power-transmitting drum disengages and the motorcycle is released. In a hand-powered version, a device such as a toothed rack may be pulled by the user to impart energy to the flywheel, and also to then automatically lower and release the motorcycle.

TL;DR: In this article, the first wheel is initially positioned at an angle to the registration edge and is rotated with the second wheel through a third wheel about the first axis, with the sheet being brought into peripheral engagement with the first drive wheel to transport the sheet on its support surface.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for transporting a sheet first toward and then along a registration edge provide a support for the sheet having a sheet support surface adjacent the registration edge and a first drive wheel rotatable about a first axis for driving the sheet on the support surface. A second drive wheel rotatable about a second axis extending at right angles to the support surface is provided at the first drive wheel. Such first wheel is initially positioned at an angle to the registration edge and is rotated with the second wheel through a third wheel about the first axis, with the sheet being brought into peripheral engagement with the first drive wheel to transport the sheet on its support surface to the registration edge. The third wheel with the first wheel is then swiveled about the second axis and about the second wheel, toward parallel relationship with the registration edge. The swiveled first wheel is then further rotated with the second wheel through the third wheel about the first axis to transport the sheet along the registration edge. In practice, the third wheel with the first wheel may be laterally moved relative to the second wheel equidistantly about the second axis to swing the first wheel toward parallel relationship with the registration edge.

TL;DR: In this article, a single motor was used for swing-out and opening/shutting of a slide door by transmitting the power through a differential gearing to a rack and pinion for swinging-out of the door and to a drive wheel for the slide door.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To make a single motor serve both for swing-out and opening/shutting of a slide door by transmitting the power through a differential gearing to a rack and pinion for swinging-out of the door and to a drive wheel for the slide door. CONSTITUTION:Slide door is equipped with a guide 50, and a roller 42 and a drive wheel 38 installed on the body 18 of the machine casing are put in engagement with the edge 51 of said guide 50. This casing body 18 slides on the guide edge 13 of the base plate 12 fixed to the car body and is driven by a pinion meshing with a rack 17. This pinion and the drive wheel 38 are driven by a motor 31 through a differential gearing. Accordingly, the door is swung out together with the casing body 18 through the action of rack and pinion when opening and shutting can not be done by the drive wheel 38 because of the door being shut. This use of differntial gearing will make it possible for a single motor to serve both for swing-out and opening/shutting of the door.

TL;DR: In this article, an electromechanical level measuring device (10) comprises a cable drum (16) which is driven by an electric motor (52) and onto which a measuring cable (18) is wound.
Abstract: An electromechanical level measuring device (10) comprises a cable drum (16) which is driven by an electric motor (52) and onto which a measuring cable (18) is wound. Attached to the unwound length of the measuring cable (18) is a sensing weight (22). The unwound end of the measuring cable (18) when the sensing weight encounters the surface of the charge is a measure of the filling level. The electric motor (52) drives, via a gear system (48), a shaft (44) which carries a drive wheel (40). The drive wheel can be rotated through a limited angular range between two end positions (64, 66) with respect to a carrier wheel (32). With the sensing weight (22) freely suspended on the measuring cable (18), the carrier wheel is in one end position with respect to the drive wheel. When the sensing weight (22) encounters the charge surface, the carrier wheel is moved in the direction of the other end position by a tension force. The relative rotation of drive and carrier wheel, which are disposed outside the region which can be affected by the charge, is measured by sensors (70, 72) which function without contact and is processed in an evaluation device for switching the direction of rotation of the electric motor (52).

TL;DR: In this paper, a daisy wheel type printer is described, where two drive gears are serially engaged with each other and with the ribbon drive means, so that the rotational direction of the ribbon take-up is opposite that of the drive shaft.
Abstract: A protective pack for holding a cartridge for a daisy wheel type printer is disclosed. The cartridge has a supply spool for holding a fresh ribbon pancake and a take-up spool for holding used ribbon. The cartridge body has a viewport extending radially adjacent the ribbon pancake to allow observation thereof. The cartridge includes two arms which define a path for the ribbon to pass between the paper and the printer mechanism. Two drive gears are serially engaged with each other and with the ribbon drive means. When the first drive wheel is driven by a drive shaft of the printer, the second acts as an idler gear so that the direction of ribbon take-up is the same as the direction of the rotation of the drive shaft. When the second gear is driven, it drives the ribbon drive gear means directly so that the rotational direction of the ribbon take-up is opposite that of the drive shaft. The drive gears are located and their lower portions are configured to engage the respective drive shafts of various printers. The ribbon pack is an open shell having a cavity shaped to conform to the cartridge body. A shoulder projecting upward in the cavity inserts into the viewport when the cartridge is placed therein to prevent the ribbon pancake from telescoping during shipment.

TL;DR: In this article, a titlted device with a guide wheel turning in contact with the endless belt between a driven wheel and a drive wheel interlocking to frame opening mechanisms and a slider provided with a switch changeover body to frame members is presented.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To make the titlted device easy to assemble and adjust and durable by providing a guide wheel turning in contact with the endless belt between a driven wheel and a drive wheel interlocking to frame opening mechanisms and a slider provided with a switch changeover body to frame members by energizing springs. CONSTITUTION:A motor revolves a driven wheel 13 and wheels 27, 27' for wrapping transmission via an endless belt 14 and frame opening mechanisms 9, 9' are transferred from the position A to B via wrapping trasmission belts 29, 29'. In the position B, the mechanisms 9, 9' hold filter plates 6 therebetween and move them to right. While discharging the cake, the plates 6 travel until they about on the filter frame 5 and movable head 8 having arrived first, then the revolution of the wheels 27, 27' is stopped. However, the drive wheel 12 keeps revolving clockwise and therefore it contacts the endless belt 14. This causes the rotating guide wheel 12 to be moved leftward and also causes a slider 20 to slide in a frame member 16 so that a switch changeover body 19 is moved left to turn off a switch 23. Then, the drive wheel 12 revolves counterclockwise. By the above-mentioned changeover operation, the mechanisms 9, 9' are reciprocatively moved, by which the plates 6 are successively fed in the right direction and the frames are opened.
