TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method to eliminate the printing power and wire driving capacity of an impact dot head, and to improve durable performance by managing grease coating amount and grease quality, and coating a necessary position with grease.
Abstract: PURPOSE: To eliminate loss of printing power and wire driving capacity of an impact dot head, and to improve durable performance by managing grease coating amount and grease quality, and coating a necessary position with grease. CONSTITUTION: A fulcrum position of a fulcrum support for rotating a lever 1 is coated with grease (a) of No.1 to No.5 of consistency 0.1×10 -3 cc to less than 10×10 -3 cc. An engaging part I of the lever 1 with a return spring 2 is coated with grease (b) of No.0 to No.4 of consistency 1.0×10 -3 cc or less, Further, the surface of a core to be collided or slid with the attraction part of an armature 4 is coated with grease (c) of No.0 to No.5 of consistency 0.7mm thick or less. Then, a wire 7 is slid in a state that grease (d) is filled at an end wire guide 21, and the grease (d) is introduced into the hole 24 of the guide 21 when it is slid. As a result, the hole 24 is not introduced with paper chips, ink pigments (g), thereby improving its durability. COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio

TL;DR: In this paper, a grease trap construction comprising a housing having an inlet to receive waste water containing grease and foreign material and having an outlet is described, where an aqueous composition containing a mixture of enzymes and bacterial spores is introduced into the housing into contact with the waste water.
Abstract: A grease trap construction comprising a housing having an inlet to receive waste water containing grease and foreign material and having an outlet. An air conduit having a plurality of outlet ports spaced along its length is located in the lower end of the housing and is connected to a source of air under pressure, so that air will be discharged through the ports into contact with the waste water. The waste water within the housing is heated by an electric heating element which is immersed in the waste water and the heating element is controlled by a thermostat to maintain the temperature of the waste water within a given range. An aqueous composition containing a mixture of enzymes and bacterial spores is introduced into the housing into contact with the waste water. The enzymes and bacterial spores act on the grease, fats and other material in the waste water to provide a substantial reduction in total solids and an increase in soluble solids, as well as a substantial reduction in the BOD level of the waste water.

TL;DR: An approach to the construction of amperometric biosensors based on the incorporation of an enzyme in silicone grease and using the grease to fill micropores on a graphite surface is described and should be applicable to other enzyme-substrate systems.
Abstract: An approach to the construction of amperometric biosensors based on the incorporation of an enzyme in silicone grease and using the grease to fill micropores on a graphite surface is described. The enzyme-grease electrode concept, illustrated with the enzyme tyrosinase, offers a very simple, rapid and inexpensive approach to the fabrication of enzyme electrodes. The tyrosinase electrode responds very rapidly to dynamic changes in the concentration of phenolic compounds. A response time (t95%) as low as 5 s has been determined. With flow injection, 120 samples per hour can be processed with a relative standard deviation of 2.4%. The electrode remains active for about 12 d. The detection limit for dopamine is 6 × 10–6M. This method of biosensor construction should be applicable to other enzyme-substrate systems.

TL;DR: In this paper, a bearing lubricating device is designed for attachment to the wheel bearing housing of a trailer or other vehicle to automatically lubricate the bearing in the bearing housing, which includes a cylindrical grease housing fitted with a spring-loaded piston and a piston plate extending from the piston.
Abstract: A bearing lubricating device which is designed for attachment to the wheel bearing housing of a trailer or other vehicle to automatically lubricate the bearings in the bearing housing. The bearing lubricating device includes a cylindrical grease housing fitted with a spring-loaded piston and a piston plate extending from the piston, wherein the piston projects from the end of the grease housing. When grease is charged into the interior of the grease housing, the spring is compressed and forces the piston farther outwardly of the grease housing, to indicate that sufficient grease is provided in the grease housing for proper lubrication of the wheel bearings. In a first preferred embodiment of the invention a stop ring is provided in the housing to limit travel of the piston plate and piston in the housing and the projecting end of the piston is color-coded to indicate the grease content inside the grease housing. In a second preferred embodiment a retainer is attached to the piston for the same purpose.

TL;DR: In this paper, a sample of dispersion is frozen, then fractured using a scanning electron microscope, and a replica of the fracture surface is made and observed using a scan electron microscope.
Abstract: The freeze-fracture technique has been developed to study solid-liquid dispersions. In this technique, a sample of dispersion is frozen, then fractured. A replica of the fracture surface is made and observed using a scanning electron microscope. The physical form of the solid thickener in dispersion can be studied, and the structure of the thickener can be revealed as well as a combination of rupture properties of the solid and the frozen liquid. The application of this technique is on lubricant greases. Greases are two-phase dispersed systems composed of mineral oil gelled with solid particles of soap. Three lithium 12-hydroxystearate greases are examined. Two different kinds of washing of the replica are used, the first eliminating the liquid phase. The configuration of soap particles and the network formed by them are observed, and artifacts such as twisting soap fibers are avoided. The second washing eliminates the solid and liquid phase. Examination of the fracture surface of the soap provides information on crystalline arrangement. The observed structures by freeze fracture are related to the thermal treatments during grease manufacture. The results are compared with the observations obtained from an electron transmission microscope analysis after preparation by the usual dispersion technique.
