TL;DR: The spawning seasons in Holothuria (Halodeima) floridana, H. mexicana, and their hybrids are concurrent and thus do not aid in prevention of hybridization.
Abstract: 1. Gametogenesis in Holothuria (Halodeima) floridana, H. (H.) mexicana and their hybrids occurs during spring and summer in southern Florida. 2. Spawning occurs in late summer and is followed by resorption of relict gametes. 3. The spawning seasons of these species are concurrent and thus do not aid in prevention of hybridization.

TL;DR: Electrophoretic analysis of basic chromosomal proteins from sperm of starfish and holothuria demonstrates that these species are similar in respect of histones H2A, H2B, H3, H4 and differ in H1, which in holothia migrates much faster.
Abstract: 1. 1. Electrophoretic analysis of basic chromosomal proteins from sperm of starfish and holothuria demonstrates that these species are similar in respect of histones H2A, H2B, H3, H4 and differ in H1, which in holothuria migrates much faster. Moreover, chromatin of holothuria sperm, in addition to histones, contains protamine-like protein. 2. 2. Interspecies comparison of sperm histones from five starfish species reveals only minor variations in fractions H1, H2B and H2A. 3. 3. A significant difference in H1 is found between sperm and hepatopancreas of starfish while other fractions are similar. 4. 4. In holothuria, electrophoretic patterns of histones from sperm and intestine resemble each other.
