Abstract: A retrieved image display method in an image file system in which image data records undergone a data compression and index records including positional information of the image data records are stored in a file medium. The method includes a first step to specify a partial region of a retrieved image to be displayed on a display screen, a second step to attain, based on positional information above included in an index record corresponding to the retrieved image, a recording position of an image date portion on the file medium corresponding to the partial region to be displayed and to partially read out image data from the image data record, and a third step to restore the compressed image data thus read out into the original image data and to display the restored image data on the display screen. In accordance with to the partial region specified in the first step, the operations of the second step and the third step are successively and repetitiously achieved for a plurality of retrieved images to thereby flip pages of the retrieved images on the display screen.

Abstract: : The concept of an ASCII, 80 character per record, data base format, referred to as a Universal File, is presented to serve as the basis for data exchange between different hardware and software environments. Since the data involved is concerned with the structural dynamics testing and analysis areas, the Universal File formats include initialization files, geometry files, measurement files, and analysis data files. The Universal File format that is utilized originated with the Structural Dynamics Research Corporation. Keywords: Computer files; Vibration testing.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To execute the printing processing of the optional image reserved at the picture buffer at a high speed by executing simultaneously and in parallel the extending processing of the picture information reserved at the picture buffer having the capacity larger than the output screen of the terminal device of the terminal control device and the printing processing. CONSTITUTION:Plural pages of the picture data of the image system equivalent to retrieving conditions designated from an input device 29 of a picture retrieving terminal 2 are earlier read including the designated page from an optical disk driving unit 16 of a scanning filing device 1, and filed through a communicating line LAN 4 to an image file 31. After the picture data are reserved at a memory 22 of a picture retrieving terminal 2, the picture data for one screen, which come to be the displaying object, are extended and processed by an image processing device 5 and developed on a bit map memory 25 under the control of a bit mover 26, and thereafter, displayed at a CRT displaying part 23. After the code system displaying screen data including the character code read from a screen information file 32 under the control of a terminal control device 3 is imaged by an image processing device 5, the data are developed (overlapping-written) on the bit map memory 25 and displayed at a CRT displaying part 32.

TL;DR: In this article, a pair of stereoscopic image data is thinned to 1/2 the quantity of data by an image blurring thinning processor and the image with 1 2 size obtained by the processor is stored in an image file 3 together with the original image.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain highly accurate distance information or height information by estimating and correcting geometrical distortion on an image which may be generated due to the difference of a visual point on the basis of the relation of stereoscopic corresponding points found on an image with low resolution due to gradual thinning. CONSTITUTION:A pair of stereoscopic image data 1 is thinned to 1/2 the quantity of data by an image blurring thinning processor 2. Since simple image thinning does not satisfy a sampling theorem, blurring processing is adopted. The image with 1/2 size obtained by the processor 2 is stored in an image file 3 together with the original image. The image with 1/2 size stored in the image file 3 is read out again and furthermore blurred and thinned by the processor 2 and the blurred and thinned image is stored in the file 3 as an image with 1/4 size of the original image. After repeating image blurring thinning plural times, reduced images having plural levels are stored in the file 3. Thus, the specially rough stereoscopic corresponding relation is expressed as stereoscopic corresponding relation on the image with the current resolution.

TL;DR: This thesis investigates the integration of an optical system for real-time position, scale, and rotation invariant pattern recognition using a Litton Magneto-Optic Spatial Light Modulator interfaced to a Zenith 248 microcomputer and AT&T frame grabber.
Abstract: : This thesis investigates the integration of an optical system for real-time position, scale, and rotation invariant pattern recognition. Specifically a Litton Magneto-Optic Spatial Light Modulator is interfaced to a Zenith 248 microcomputer and AT&T frame grabber. A user interfaces written in C allowed arbitrary patterns to be written to the SLM by a user. Patterns can be generated in computer code, transferred form a CCD camera (via the frame grabber), taken from an image file on computer disk, or taken from a VAX image file. The ability to locally generate a computer generated hologram using the computer generated interferogram method on the Sun workstations and Imagen laser printer was developed. The CGH developed was used in an optical coordinate transformation to create a position, scale, and rotation invariant feature space. CCD cameras were used throughout the optical processor for display/analysis. The entire system was developed and tested using various templates and real scenes.

TL;DR: An optical disk subsystem which is integrated into the UCLA Clinical Radiology Imaging System (CRIS) and provides long term storage for digital radiographs on dual optical disk drives coupled to a multi-volume image file data base.
Abstract: Radiology is changing as a result of the tremendous expansion in the number and size of digital radiographs The introduction of computed radiography systems and digital laser scanners now allows the radiology department to routinely collect images as digital information with resolution in excess of 2048x2048x8 bits This high resolution combined with the large number of radiographs acquired in a working clinical environment creates a problem in digital image storage and management To solve this problem we have developed an optical disk software and hardware subsystem which is integrated into the UCLA Clinical Radiology Imaging System (CRIS) CRIS takes advantage of the storage capacity and speed hierarchy offered by image processor memory, conventional magnetic disk, and optical disk to provide an efficient means of acquiring, viewing, and storing a large number of digital images The optical disk subsystem provides long term storage for digital radiographs on dual optical disk drives coupled to a multi-volume image file data base

TL;DR: In this paper, an image processor IIP 5 executes the working processing of an output image part of image data to be outputted which are read out from the image filing device 1, stored in an image file 31 of a terminal control equipment 3 and then stored in a memory of an image retrieving terminal 2 and is used in common by respective image retrieving terminals 2 connected to a communication circuit LAN 4.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To use effectively an image filling device and to reduce a setting space and cost by providing the retrieval and supply of images filed in one image filling device to code processing terminals arranged on plural positions comparatively separated each other in common. CONSTITUTION:An image processor IIP 5 executes the working processing of an output image part of image data to be outputted which are read out from the image filing device 1, stored in an image file 31 of a terminal control equipment 3 and then stored in a memory of an image retrieving terminal 2 and is used in common by respective image retrieving terminals 2 connected to a communication circuit LAN 4. The image processor 5 includes an encoding/ decoding mechanism for compressing/expanding image data, a density converting mechanism for converting dot density, an expanding/contracting mechanism for expanding/contracting the image, a separating mechanism for optionally and selectively extracting an image, an image buffer for storing image data processed by said respective mechanical parts, etc.

TL;DR: In this article, a display means for taking out a prescribed number of partial areas from plural partial areas stored in a storing means and entirely displaying is proposed to improve an operability.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve an operability by providing a display means for taking out a prescribed number of partial areas from plural partial areas stored in a storing means and entirely displaying. CONSTITUTION:On retrieving, by setting the number by a keyboard, characteristic areas are taken out from a characteristic area storing part 16 by the set number by a display control part 17 and they are displayed unitedly on a display device 7. Herein, while viewing the display device 7, whether the characteristic area of a desired image exists or not is recognized and if there is the desired image, the file name is designated by the keyboard, and if there is not the desired image, the next characteristic area is wholly displayed on the display device 7, and the retrieval is progressed while rolling. When the file name of the desired image is designated, the image corresponding to the file name is taken out from an image file part 6 by an image file retrieving part 18 and displayed on the display device 7 through a bit map memory 5. Thereby, many number of the images can be retrieved once and the time requiring for the retrieval can be remarkably shortened.
