Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition of the agent for controlling house dust mites is provided which contains o-phenylphenol, together with a pyrethroid insecticide. The agent is safe to the human body and has excellent bactericidal and insecticidal effects. CONSTITUTION: A composition of the bactericidal and insecticidal agent for controlling house dust mites contains 0.1 to 30% by weight of o-phenylphenol, a pyrethroid insecticide and a solvent. The solvent is water or ethanol. The formulation type of the composition is aerosol. The mites having a size of 0.1 to 0.5mm are selected from Dermatophagoides farinae, Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus, Tyrophagus putrescentiae or the like. The pyrethroid insecticide is selected from the group consisting of allethrin, d-cis/trans allethrin, d-trans allethrin, bioallethrin, d,d-cis/trans prallethrin, permethrin, resmethrin, d-resmethrin, phthalthrin and d-phenothrin.
