TL;DR: In this article, a hydrocracking catalyst composition comprising metals of Group VIb and Group VIII was used to obtain pseudoboehmite-pores with diameters ranging from 40 to 80 Å.
Abstract: A hydrocracking catalyst composition comprising metals of Group VIb and Group VIII deposited on a carrier material consisting of Y-zeolite and one or more members of the group consisting of alumina/zinc oxide, alumina/boria and alumina/silica/magnesia, the greater part of the pores of said composition having a diameter of 70-110 Å even when measured by nitrogen adsorption method or by means of a porosimeter under pressure. The catalyst composition having the pores as mentioned above is made by using, as an alumina component of the carrier material, an alumina cake obtained from an amorphous alumina hydrate slurry containing a pseudoboehmite having a crystal size grown in the range of 40 to 80 Å.

TL;DR: In this article, a molding of alumina which is prepd. by activating the alumina produced by a Bayer's process then applying a heat treatment and of which the X-ray diffraction peak exhibits an amorphous shape or a pseudoboehmite peak is cured in an autoclave under the following conditions: an aq. soln. of sodium carbonate or potassium carbonate of 9-13 pH is used as a curing agent and the molding is cured for 1-36hr at 140-220 deg.C and 3-20kg
Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce an aluminous carrier of high carrier strength at a low cost by subjecting a molding of alumina as a carrier for metallic catalysts to curing under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:The molding of alumina which is prepd. by activating the alumina produced by a Bayer's process then applying a heat treatment thereto and of which the X-ray diffraction peak exhibits an amorphous shape or a pseudoboehmite peak is cured in an autoclave under the following conditions: An aq. soln. of sodium carbonate or potassium carbonate of 9-13 pH is used as a curing agent and the molding is cured for 1-36hr at 140-220 deg.C and 3-20kg/ cm . This is removed from the autoclave, and is washed with hot water, after which it is dried and is further calcined for 3hr at 880 deg.C, whereby the aluminous carrier of high adhesive strength to catalytic metals is obtained economically.
