TL;DR: In this paper, an electronic camera or the like is used to acquire an original parameter of a scene, and records it, and the parameter is converted in a way that a momentary visual reproduction density has a reproduction tone mapping that is higher than a minimum value of A and smaller than a multiple of (A+0.35) over a measured exposure density of a 100% diffusion reflecting object in an original scene.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce an image of a scene in a pleasant skin color preferably by acquiring a parameter of an original scene and converting the parameter so as to satisfy prescribed conditions thereby emphasizing the saturation. SOLUTION: An electronic camera or the like is used to acquire an original parameter of a scene, and records it. The parameter is converted in a way that, for example, a momentary visual reproduction density has a reproduction tone mapping that is higher than a minimum value of A and smaller than a multiple of (A+0.35) over a measured exposure density of a multiple of 0.61-1.45 with respect to zero density of a 100% diffusion reflecting object in an original scene. Furthermore, the value A is selected as A=1.0 for reproduction of directly viewed reflecting object, A=1.1 for reproduction of self luminescence and A=1.3 for reproduction at a dark density. The parameter of a saturation ratio is similarly converted and mapped and a preferable visual scene to the viewer is reproduced with emphasized saturation and in a pleasant skin color tone.
