TL;DR: In this paper , the authors explain why any business in any industry needs enterprise architecture (EA) by studying different frameworks such as The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and Zachman.
Abstract: In this first chapter, I will explain why any business in any industry needs enterprise architecture (EA). You will learn what enterprise architecture is by studying different frameworks such as The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and Zachman. You will also discover why these are relevant to the business, but also why it’s necessary to develop new perspectives to enterprise architecture because of the changing, digital ecosystem where enterprises find themselves today. We will take a first look at emergent architectures, North Stars, and methodologies such as Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and Open Agile Architecture (O-AA). Spoiler alert: Enterprise architecture is not about technology in the first place.

TL;DR: In this paper , a general architecture framework (GAF) and its related general modeling framework (GMF) are proposed to support MBSE tools and methods for system analysis, design and development.
Abstract: With the gradual unification of theories, methods and tools of software engineering, systems engineering and enterprise engineering, as an engineering tool for understanding, designing, developing, implementing and integrating complex software systems, enterprise systems and system of systems, architecture, methodology and system modeling techniques have been widely studied and applied in engineering, as well as forming a series of generalized architecture frameworks, such as Zachman framework, CIM-OSA, GIM/IMPACS, PERA, GERAM, FEAF, DoDAF, TOGAF, UAF, etc. These frameworks support the cognition, description, analysis and design activities of complex systems. On the basis of these generalized architecture frameworks, the architecture of industrial systems such as Reference Architecture Model Industry 4.0 (RAMI4.0), the Industrial Internet of Things Reference Architecture, and Smart Manufacturing Ecosystem has also been established and applied. On the other hand, along with the in-depth research and extensive application of model-based system engineering (MBSE), the framework methodology and design tools such as Harmony, Magic Grid are also changing the traditional pattern of industrial design. In order to solve the problem of adaptation, integration and interoperability of different architecture frameworks as well as their methods and tools in engineering applications, it is necessary to develop a general architecture and modeling framework to support systems, software and enterprises engineering based on different architectures, methods and tools to achieve internal and external integration and interoperability. In this paper, we first propose a general architecture framework (GAF) and its related general modeling framework (GMF). GAF provides MBSE tools and methods for system analysis, design and development. GMF provides a set of models and methods to describe different views of systems. In order to illustrate the common characteristics of GAF and GMF, this paper also discusses the interoperability between GAF, GMF and mainstream architectures and modeling frameworks in detail.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors present a framework that is widely used in creating enterprise or organizational architectures called TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) which is a framework for creating, running, implementing and maintaining enterprise architectures in existing systems.
Abstract: The Islamic Student Association (HMI) is an umbrella organization with a clear model of being Indonesian and Islamic, providing a platform to train and develop leaders with honesty and quality determination, faith and responsibility. The factors that provide direction within the organization to adopt an Enterprise Architecture (EA) system are aimed at enhancing what the organization needs. Enterprise architecture or what can be called Enterprise Architecture (EA) is a description of the task in question consisting of knowledge, actions, direction from the organization and architectural performance parameters in the description of the design or plan and development of an integrated system. TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) is a framework that is widely used in creating enterprise or organizational architectures. TOGAF offers methods and tools for creating, running, implementing, and maintaining enterprise architectures in existing systems. The results of this study are in the form of a blueprint that is expected to be useful for organizations as material to assist IT development in HMI.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors present the development of a conceptual-level architecture vision used for the real estate sector, which adopts eleven steps proposed by TOGAF ADM 9.1 framework in performing the conceptual level architecture vision.
Abstract: This paper presents the development of a conceptual-level architecture vision used for the real estate sector. In Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP), conceptual-level architecture vision may also be referred to as architecture vision planning. Aiming to streamline the business processes, organizations need information and communication technology support. Conceptual-level architecture vision is an early and crucial stage in the development of integrated information and communication technology. We adopt eleven steps proposed by TOGAF ADM 9.1 framework in performing the conceptual-level architecture vision for the real estate sector. For gathering information, we conduct some direct observations, in-depth interviews, and careful document examination. In every stage, we confirm the results to the relevant parties until they are appropriate and approved. This research produces a stakeholder map matrix, value chain diagram, and solution concepts diagram. All the resulting work products are summarized in a statement of architecture work, which describes the architecture project description and scope, an overview of architecture vision, and an architecture project plan and schedule. The results of conceptual-level architecture vision have been confirmed and obtained continuous feedback from stakeholders using questionnaires. The results of this study could be the initial stage of the enterprise architecture blueprint for the real estate sector.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors interviewed 65 experts from around 25 organizations in over ten countries to devise and validate the proposed framework that addresses the mentioned shortcoming, including Machine Learning (ML) and Data Science-related concerns of data scientists and data engineers.
Abstract: Several architecture frameworks for software, systems, and enterprises have been proposed in the literature. They have identified various stakeholders and defined architecture viewpoints and views to frame and address stakeholder concerns. However, the Machine Learning (ML) and data science-related concerns of data scientists and data engineers are yet to be included in existing architecture frameworks. We interviewed 65 experts from around 25 organizations in over ten countries to devise and validate the proposed framework that addresses the mentioned shortcoming.
