TL;DR: In this paper, the spectral properties of the infrared emission band in the spectral region extending from 890 to 930 nm have been investigated and the basic features and origin of the IR emission band are discussed.
Abstract: The solar spectrum was measured in the 300-1200 nm range for a period of two years. Most of the recorded spectra exhibit the normal ultraviolet, visible and infrared absorption bands characterizing the solar spectrum. However, some of the spectra, recorded in Feb. 1987, show an intense emission band in the spectral region extending from 890 to 930 nm. The band is relatively narrow and has a variable intensity. The basic features and origin of the infrared emission band are discussed.
