Journal ArticleDOI
Trends in yearly prevalence of third-generation cephalosporin and fluoroquinolone resistant Enterobacteriaceae infections and antimicrobial use in Spanish hospitals, Spain, 1999 to 2010.

TL;DR: There are strong correlations between the rate of fluoroquinolone use and the resistance to fluoroquolones, third-generation cephalosporins, or co-resistance to both, for E. coli and K. pneumoniae, and no correlation could be found between the use of third- generation cep Halosporin and resistance to any of the latter antimicrobials.
