Journal ArticleDOI
Mannose binding protein gene mutations associated with unusual and severe infections in adults.
J.A. Summerfield,Stephen D. Ryder,M. Sumiya,Mark Thursz,A. Gorchein,M.A. Monteil,Malcolm W. Turner +6 more
TL;DR: The occurrence of three homozygotes for MBP mutations among these five infected patients suggests that MBP deficiency may confer a life-long risk of infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Megaloblastic haemopoiesis after multiple short-term exposure to nitrous oxide
TL;DR: In rats exposed to a similar regimen of entonox, methionine synthase activity was inhibited because of inactivation of vitamin B 12 , and dU-suppressed values became abnormal.
Journal ArticleDOI
Magnesium protoporphyrin chelatase activity in Rhodopseudomonas spheroides. Studies with whole cells.
TL;DR: Evidence is presented that insertion of magnesium is obligatorily coupled with methylation and it is concluded that the reaction is dependent on a multienzyme complex.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biosynthesis of Bacteriochlorophyll
TL;DR: A lecture given by Professor Neuberger at a Symposium on Bio-organic Chemistry held by the Perkin Division of the Chemical Society in association with the Biochemical Society on November 9, 1972 is described in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI
Control of magnesium–protoporphyrin chelatase activity in Rhodopseudomonas spheroides. Role of light, oxygen, and electron and energy transfer
TL;DR: Magnesium-protoporphyrin chelatase activity, previously shown in whole cells of Rhodopseudomonas spheroides, could not be demonstrated in cell-free extracts prepared in different ways, although spheroplasts retained moderate activity as mentioned in this paper.
