Journal ArticleDOI

Inhibition by interferon of SV40 tumor antigen formation in cells injected with SV40 cRNA transcribed in vitro

TL;DR: It was found that in monkey cells both the viral transcription and viral translation were reduced by the same rate by human interferon, which supports the hypothesis that the SV40 genome transcription is primarily affected by interferons.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biological activity of hemimethylated and single-stranded DNA after direct gene transfer into tobacco protoplasts

TL;DR: Methylation of the chimeric G US gene (CaMV 35s/GUS/NOS) with the HpaII methyltransferase had no effect on transient and on stable GUS gene expression and the single‐stranded DNA was as active as the double-stranded form.
Journal ArticleDOI

The SV40 T-antigen induces premature apoptotic mammary gland involution during late pregnancy in transgenic mice.

TL;DR: Transgenic animals of the line 8 contain the WAP‐SV‐T transgene and a significant number of mammary epithelial cells escape apoptosis and all transgenic females develop breast cancer after the first lactation period.
Journal ArticleDOI

The biological activity of different forms of Polyoma Virus DNA and viral DNA fragments

TL;DR: Mouse tissue culture cells were infected with different forms of Polyoma Virus DNA or virus DNA fragments by means of a microinjection technique and stained for PV-tumor (T) antigen and virus capsid (V) antigen 48 hr after injection to reveal T- and V-antigen formation.
