Abstract: The resistivity and the temperature coefficient of resistivity of cobalt films 280-1600 AA thick were studied at temperatures between 30 and 150 degrees C. It was observed that coherent films were obtained by depositing the cobalt films slowly onto a heated (150 degrees C) substrate. The experimental observations could be explained qualitatively by considering the growth structure and the existence of mixed phases. The effect of magnetic boundary-wall scattering although likely to be present could not be separately identified in the range of this measurement. Fuchs' theory in the limit of complete diffuse scattering seems to reproduce the experimental data. The applicability of the theory of Mayadas and Shatzkes (1970) has also been tested.
